EXTERIOR WAYFINDING
Industry: Multi-building industrial office park with LEED Gold and BOMA Best Gold distinction
Discovery: Our aim for this project was to improve the wayfinding experience of the property which consists of 5 separate buildings. We wanted to create a comprehensive design solution that includes exterior signs which are easy to understand and complement the existing park monument identification signs.
Outcome: Visitors to the park are greeted with illuminated monoliths at each of the four main entrances. These monoliths are designed to match the existing monument signs and the material aesthetic of the property. The surface application of the monoliths mimics the molded concrete foundation.
The buildings are numbered and designated to complete the wayfinding signage. This helps visitors to the park easily navigate and locate various buildings and facilities.
In addition, a large directional wall sign has been placed on the east-facing exterior wall of the parkade. This helps visitors reorient themselves without leaving the office park. This completes the navigation program and ensures that visitors can easily find their way around.
